ECU is constantly making minor mixture adjustments for smooth running so will have already adjusted to your driving style.

Cheers Peter. Wasn't sure if there was an old ford twist to manually reset/put it into learning mode again.

I believe it is easy to imagine engines produce a little more power by resetting ECU, because car will sound a little harsh until it re-adjusts and settles down.

Just my opinion for what its worth.

Sure we have been here before. 1 hour battery reset will clear the fuel and load tables from the PCM and start fresh. In short, it will adapt quicker although will be noisier at first.

It doesn't. It works within preset parameters , ie fuel flow, throttle pos, temp, air, etc,

And constantly uses sensor readings to adjust mixture and timing to keep engine running within programmed parameters.
