Gents,

Found this on http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=223763&f=129&h=0&p=3

1. You're at the lights
2. Depress the clutch
3. floor the throttle
4. Computers cut in preventing the revs going above 3,500
5. Lights change
6. Drop the clutch and keep your right foot flat to the floor
7. computers do the rest, preventing wheel spin etc and gaining the most amount of traction possible
8. Warp speed (well nearly)

[color:red]Does it work as don't really won't to try it yet wiv just 500 miles on the clock so far????[/color]

Cheers,

Sounds interesting. Have heard whispers on other forums about launch control on the Focus ST, but couldn't find any mention of it in the owners manual so paid it no more thought.

The car aint moving tomorrow (all day :smoking: & ), but i'll give it a go Saturday. Just have to make sure nobody is watchin though.... :innocent:

With 1200 miles now on the clock and no hic-ups, Nova boi 'complete wiv georges cross' pulled up next to me at the lights today, so I felt obliged to give the launch control a whizz after pasting this topic, and f##k me, worked a treat, revs held at 3500, little pops and bangs, lights go to amber, spring of the clutch, roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and I'was gone!!!!!!! after that felt compelled to hav a dust up with a TT, lets just say he stayed in me rear view mirror also. So anyone thinking about canceling their order, or getting fustrated, trust me in that its well worth the 5 1/2 month wait I indured!!!!!!!

(I was even so happy this eve with the ST's good days work, I treated it to a bath)

Not really, differant electronics,etc.

Anyone got a soundbite of the ST Focus yet? I've NEVER heard one at full chat.
Don't you have the Fifth Gear programme recorded ?

They showed and you could hear an ST engine on the test bed at full chat , well 5000+ rpm as you could see from the monitor , being run at that speed continuously [!] for 6 weeks ! Fascinating to watch the torque figure in slow motion as the revs vary slightly .

Recording may be accessible on the Channel 5 site or maybe someone out there could make it available via out site?
