Those of you that met up for the East Coast Chrimbo Meet know that when it comes to cars I'm pretty thick.

I love the way my ST drives just the way it is and so I don't really want to go down the route of engine mods etc, but I do feel that Ford could have hired a 5 year old for inspiration with some of the styling.

Starting with the rear ST badge, the more I look at it the more it looks like one of those "Turbo" or "GTI" badges that you can buy from any market for a couple of quid, which you usually find stuck on the back of some old Grandads car (no offence Mr X
) I was parked behind an 07 Focus ST this morning and liked the badge it had on the back which started me wondering how my ST badge was fixed on and could I change it for a Focus badge. After a quick search on fleabay I also saw that you can get them for the front grille. So my questions are............

1, How is the ST badge stuck on, glue or is there a hole somewhere ?
2. Does anybody have any pics of a Mondy with the Focus badges on (front and rear) ?

Finally, the other cheapish mod I would like to do is change the colour of the interior lighting to red, proper porn mobile

I have spoken to a couple of people and follwed/posted in a couple of threads but I have only had partial answers.

Does anybody have a complete list of interior bulb types and the equivalent LED replacements ?

To be totally honest I'm not even sure how many interior lights I have but I do think that I need to do them all for it to look any good.

Anyway, thanks for any help you can give to this numpty, even partial lists would be good as we might be able to cobble together a full list and then add a wiki for future questions.

The ST badge is stuck on. But what are you going to do about the matching ST's on the steering wheel and the scuff plates?
I's rather leave mine as i tis than have a mixture.

Yeah, I did think about that but the scuff plates can only be seen when the doors are open and the steering wheel badge is very small.

From a general "walking past the car" or "driving behind the car" I think the focus badges look better.

If it's a generally easy "by my standards" job to do I might just get some a see how they look for a few weeks.

I have the proper ST badge on mine (the focus one) and removed the TDCI as it was corroded and i think it looks 10 times better. I have a spare self adhesive focus ST badge. I bought it to put on the front grill but wasn't too keen on the look. You can have it if you like 5 quid posted.

Use a hairdryer on the current one on the back to loosen the glue (don't let the paint work on the car get too hot or it'll bubble) when the glue is loose enough you can prise it off. Clean off any remaining glue and voila, badge gone. When putting on the new one heat it with the hairdryer a bit before sticking it on to get a better fix.

I used the hairdryer trick when putting on my gel overlays, neighbours thought I was mad standing in the front garden in the middle of Jan with a hair dryer

What's voila ?

Apologies, I was being pedantic because it tickled me the way I read it "just clean off any remaining glue and voila", sounded like a toxic mix of something but I couldn't find a pedantic smiley

Voila-used to call attention, to express satisfaction or approval, or to suggest an appearance as if by magic.

I think the mixed badges look stupid IMO!
The Mondeo ST (like the ST170) is a subtle car
If you wasn't a big gawdy badge buy an EVO!

I do kind of agree with what you are saying and although I like the subtleness of the ST, I still think the ST badge was an after thought, by a child, in the dark, way after bedtime.

I also agree that the 220 badge looks better and maybe Ford should have gone for a ST155 badge on the diesel maybe ?

Anyway, we all have different opinions on what looks good and what doesn't, so for me, the original ST badge is wrong. The Focus ST badge might look worse but I won't know until I try.

Let's be realistic .... How many people on the roads are going 2 know u have changed the badge 2 the focus 1... Unless they r mondeo ST drivers they won't have a clue ... I have the focus badge front & back & in my opinion it looks a 100 times better ....
Let's not 4get ... These are mondeo's not Aston martins .....

Personally I'm going to change mine for something a little different but still subtle, a silver ST badge, I reckon it'll look good.
