I'm getting close to getting rid of my 2006 ST tdci after nearly eight years.  145000 miles, few niggling issues (limp mode when under load being the main one, bit tappy when cold especially).

I wanted to px it but probably going to get the replacement vehicle private so px not a possibility.

So it's either sell it as running with a few issues or look to break it.  I haven't got the time to strip it and sell everything separately so I'm favoring a private sale but with the issues highlighted.

It's got MOT until May, genuine Focus RS 18" wheels, full stainless and decat, lowered on Eibachs, Focus ST calipers and is in really decent nick.  Loads of receipts for history too.   Clutch and flywheel done.  New alternator.  Shocks been done all round.

What would you do?

It seems the parts are more in demand than the full cars.

On a Focus RS, they were 19" but Ford manufactured an 18" version which I've got on mine.

What would I do ?
I would see if the cars registering any error codes and go from there...
I would also manually operate the turbo actuator arm and see if it moves freely, if it's notchy it's a good sign the turbo and or vanes are coked up, this can be sorted fairly easily and cheaply.
I'd also remove the egr , clean and test it, both common reasons for putting the car in limp mode.

No codes appear when checked.

The actuator arm is always sticking, that's the root of the problem.  How would you advise sorting this?

The EGR was new last year after years of being blanked.  I know there's no issue with that.

At the end of the day, the car is going one way or the other.

There's a diy fix for sticking vanes causing a sticky actuator.
Basically you drill a hole on the exhaust side, then tap a thread in it and have the right seize bolt ready, squirt mr muscle oven cleaner in through the hole , leave to work, bolt up hole and that's it, maybe with a repeat needed if badly coked.
I'll try and find you tube link....

Cheers mate.  I have seen that video before and it looks straight forward although I did read a few horror stories of people doing it.

I know, I don't want to tbh.

I think i'll advertise it with the faults listed and see what interest I get.

Correct mate, they were.  Great wheels.

Car's gone now to a good home in North Wales.  Swapped for a T5 Campervan.
