So what happened to everyone? We all had new or nearly new STs back in 2006...I note the weird bloke with 10 (or whatever) ST200 estates is now labelled as "Guest"...lol
Last I saw of Dave_ST220, he was trying to push his ST220 on the Ford Heritage centre after We Buy Any Car offered him 4k for it. Apparently he's only done 6000 miles in it???
Clansman is most likely drilling away for oil.
Jbsportstech most likely, and finally, joined the police.
Hey, this thread is active! It's a bit like the old days!!
My TDCI also had loads of extras from new (Recaros, nav, xenons, etc.), and I got it at six months old, so it cost me a reasonable amount of money. It's only on 54k, and hasn't caused me much grief in eleven years so I'm not planning to sell it any time soon.

That's pretty good Terrie. I walked into my 220 purchase with eyes wide shut. Although mine had the Advanced BT Denso, it didn't come with Xenons? Eventually I had them retrofitted them during 2010 and what an awkward job that was. The car was 8 months old when I got it and I think the owner of Archers of Ashby used it as a runaround. When I picked it up, the BT and voice control wasn't working. They didn't even bother to check it...nor did I...doh! Mind you, I didn't have a BT enabled phone back then.
So yeah, picked her up mid-June 2006 with 8k miles on it and then a week later the engine failed and it had to go back. They also fixed the BT and voice control at the same time.
During mid Jan 2015, after a long trip back to London, I pulled into the local Co-op car park to get some beer. When I drove away, the differential failed...nightmare lol.
However, the car also developed a curious hesitation at around 2500 revs, was "pinking" and also sometimes let out a huge cloud of blue smoke. It seemed to drink oil faster than it ate front tyres. Also had a habit of warping the front brake discs. I tried many supposed decent brand name discs but after 10,000 the dreaded braking shudder would return?
She managed to get up to 115k miles before I took her off the road.
There was a bloke on here with a machine silver ST TDCi estate who bought it from new. I believe he couldn't quite stretch to the extra 2k required for the Recaro seats option, so he settled with the standard seats which the ST TDCi came with (the Tit X seats I believe).
To his surprise, the car arrived with Recaros fitted lol...he was well chuffed.
Good old Archers of Ashby.. I wondered what had happened to them until I Googled Charles(?) Archer one day.
I remember driving up there in my old 306 for which they gave me £100 and driving away in the ST which six months before would have cost about £26k. Felt like Christmas. Well, it was the 22nd of December.

They became Ashby Ford at the new site and then went bust.
I found Charles to be utterly unhelpful with regards to the engine problems with my ST220. Once they accepted that they had to sort it, he tried to palm me off with a Vauxhall Vectra car, which had just been part-ex'd, as a "courtesy car"...the damn thing had 140,000 miles on the clock? And I was due to go up to Scotland for a wedding. I remember a dealer mate of his being there who said "f**k sake Charles, you can't give him that...it's about to die". I was then handed Alan's (service director) 54 plate Ford Maverick which had just been delivered. That was the kind of service you got off them for spending 21k on a car. My old man told me to reject the car as did a ton of folk on this forum, but Alan really did his best to get it sorted.
I really don't think you'll see another Ford dealership like Archers of Ashby again...lol
Believe me mate, when I found out about such stuff back then, I was slightly sad that he had driven my car for around 3 months before I bought it. He then moved to an Focus ST3.
I took the pics when I took the 220 back to Archers with it's engine problem. First pic is the interior of Charles's Focus ST and the 2nd is Clansman's ST TDCi which was waiting for him to pick up.
I remember now, the weird bloke with multiple ST200 estates was Bookwyse, a real oddball. He reckoned that some Ford Dealership begged him to allow them to showcase his sh!theaps...lol
Still pop in on the odd occasion mate ......long long long time since I've/we've heard from you. Hows things ? Your right still working( periodically) when I can offshore but things are slowly getting better.

Yes mate, I'm "at large" in a C63 Coupe...recently up your neck of the woods doing the NC500, which was good...apart from the frackin midges in the NW and W...lol. Stopped at John O Groats and then Loch Maree...some of those roads in the Highlands are f*cking A!!! Really gunned it on the A roads. Would upload some pics but this forum software won't allow it - shame.
I've been PM-ing the old timers to see if they will come back, was bloomin suprised you replied mate LOL
Hows that kit car then? You still larging it in a Ford?
Moved the old TXS sport on end of last year ( sadly) as she was beginning to show little signs of age, bought a MK 5 Mondeo est (again) 2.0 TDCI with the powershift box and 210 ponies and a shed load of goodies from Lookers in Colchester.....really good car love it.
There should be some pics in another thread somewhere

Me too, back then I was a slim chap with a full head of hair...now I'm balding fat f**k, hence the C63 lol
You subject to that satellite broadband sh1te mate? My first taste of that was last week at the Loch Maree Hotel...dayum, I had to resort to using pron GIFs from the late 90s!!!
Am listening to Big Country's "Chance" mate...an apt reunion song I reckon!
Would be better with a piece of wet string an internet connection .....there is a new meaning of slow on here!!!!
Lol we have all changed in some way or the other mate .....wishing I was sitting listening to something other than the PA and general rig noise and a nice cold beer in hand...........ah well back to the nightshift grind and roll on next week
Ah yes, I have a similar box in the C63. 7 Speed dual clutch thingy with paddles, but the paddle operation isn't that good as there is quite a delay between when you click the paddle and the gear change. However, I either drive in auto Comfort mode or Sports+ mode so never have a need for the paddles. I think the box is much improved for the W205 C63.
I was looking at the pics of your old Mk3 ST, the ones Archers sent you and I noticed they cleaned yours lol...they hardly touched mine when I went to pick it up.
You bought a 2nd ST I remember?
