HI everyone

My wife bought a 2013 ST2 Focus , I thought it used the sidelights as DRL's

when she bought it i thought i had seen them on !

however now when she turns the car on the sidelights are not on !

should they be or was it my imagination ?

thanks

I've got a 2013 ST2 estate without HID and the sidelights don't stay on as DRLs. They come on when the car is unlocked (along with the rear lights), which is what you may have seen, but go off when the ignition/engine is turned on. Likewise, they also come on when the car has been turned off and a door is opened. I've no idea why and have always thought it was a strange set up.

I seem to remember that it was only new models after a certain date (2011?) that had to have DRLs (either front sidelights or LEDs). As this shape was started in 2010 the DRL wasn't an option, certainly not on the ST2 anyway.
