Hi guys,
I've had my focus ST for about half a year now it's completey standard and was looking at tuning it up. Not as far as racing spec just a bit extra make it a little special. I've seen a lot of the packages company's do but I'm hoping to gradually mod my car and fit most of it myself. I've seen a few people saying inter cooler should be one of the first mods. Looking for any advice really on worth while mods to make before getting it mapped. My knowledge is pretty scarce but I do have a friend with a garage to assist with any installs.

Any advice much appreciated.

Turboback exhaust, induction system, intercooler, mapping can be by handset or direct ecu map.

If your funds are limited, look thru classifieds for second user parts on Focustoc.com http://www.focusstoc.com/forums/classifieds/

Thanks mate I was trying to find somewhere to get some second hand parts. Is it worth getting a CAIS I've heard you get little gains for the money's worth atm I've got a k&n panel filter in standard air box and pipes.
Worth doing if you are going to do the other mods especially on a mapped car.

There is a thread on there for making your own diy cais, more cost effective than buying one from a tuner/dealer and will do the same job,i did one on my Focus St and have also done the same on my 2.5t Mondeo, gets rid of the cumbersome standard airbox, you will need an rs ecu box if you do go ahead with the cais.

That sounds like it's worth a look at then do you have a link to the thread I've had a quick look I'm struggling to find it.
There is a link to it in post 6 of this thread http://www.focusstoc.com/forums/topic/132549-modifications-that-are-really-just-a-total-waste-of-your-hard-earned-le/?hl=%2Bcais+%2Binduction,but it directs you to a section that is only open to paying members, now if you have a Focus ST and you are keeping it for at least 12 months, then paying the membership fee of a tenner is money well spent,(my appologies to Nick).

Although there are a few ST225 owners on here, the response to specific tuning questions and faults would be best served over on that site, but please stay on STDrivers too as we like new members with different motors to chat with.

edit found a direct link the thread is called Homemade DS Cais, but its in the members only technical section http://www.focusstoc.com/forums/topic/85321-homemade-ds-cais-it-works/
