Hi all

Just wanted to introduce myself - I'm Neal, from SE London. I'm currently driving a BMW E39 M5, which is very nice, but I need something a little bit more sensible/economical now I have a baby on the way, so looking at Mondeo ST220s, which I think could be a perfect interesting "all-rounder". This forum looks like it's got lots of great info (buyer's guides etc) - so I'll be lurking around for a while :)

Cheers

Neal

Welcome to the forum!
Don't believe all you read on here about BMW drivers.
Maybe you can prove some wrong!

I try not to live up to the stereotype of BMW drivers, and like to think I sometimes succeed :D

Hi and welcome! One of the guys at my work has had a few M5s - awesome cars but when he told me the running costs I could see why he sold the last one. It was on 07 I think and he was paying £100 a month just for a warranty on it! And getting 11mpg. The V10 sounded bloody nice though!

ST220 is a great all founder, though I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be a little disappointed with one after an M5.
54 plate ST220
Milltek cat-back system
ASBO brakes
Has had the following tyres- Michenlin PS3s - Great tyre if a bit pricey, Conti Sport 3's - Alright, Vredstein Ultrac Sessantas - Very good given the price, Toyo T1R - Great in wet, wore too fast, Falken 452s - OK in the dry but horrid and unpredictable in the wet. Best avoided.

'P' reg Fiesta 1.4 Ghia X
Totally standard except for Shaun the Sheep airfreshner and only 32K miles from new!

Thanks guys. @Neil, I see what you did there.

V10 is another level entirely (I've got the V8 - last one with a proper manual box) - I change my cars every year-18 months anyway, and I love anything a bit interesting that sounds nice and goes decently - straight-line pace isn't everything to me, although I admit the M5 is a pretty superb all-rounder too (c.20mpg economy aside).
