Hi Chaps

I installed bluefin a few weeks back and had no issue with the driving etc but the car doesn't seem to tick over as it did and it appears that the choke isnt working since the instal.

Has anyone experienced any of these problems on their car?

I think I will remove it later and seem what it is like in the morning as it should be nice and cold.

You need to tell us what car you have.

Cars don't have chokes in the traditional sense these days as everything is controlled by the ecu.

It is possible that there is an underlying issue but the first thing to do is remove BF to see if anything changes.

You should not drive it below 1500rpm or you will destroy the dmf. With the clutch engaged when you start going much below 1500rpm the engine will labour and the anti stall will kick in.

What is the DMF?

I cant exactly do anything about the car revving below 1500rpm if im sitting in 1st in traffic etc.

I didnt mean tick over that's why I said with clutch engaged. Some people drive at too low revs and it stresses the dmf which is the flywheel.

Google dmf and you will see how its designed.

As for your running sounds like the cold start lumpy idle issue. Quite common. If your injectors are not worn you can normally cure it by running a can of bg244 through a full tank of quality diesel.

A new fuel filter may work too.

The fuel filter wasnt changed too long ago with the full service.

The BG244 - i assume this in an injector cleaner or something - any links to the best and cheapest place to buy this?

I use it once a year on 3 of my vehicles ....
Don't notice much improvement on the car or jeep but that's good cause they don't do many miles but run sweet which I think is done 2 the 244 & quality fuel ....
It make a big difference 2 the van each year though as it does highish miles & gets all sorts of fuel in it ....

I used some in Oct 2009 and the motor seemed to run smoother. It's getting a bit lumpy again and unwilling to rev, so I've just ordered some more.

Does the issue happen in the morning or when the cars been left for a few hours? Erratic revving on start up then goes away after a minute?
Apparently it's the injectors. If you have £25 to spend on BG244 go right ahead but I tried it a couple months ago and I still have the issue.

Injectors not working 100%

Will be fine when the weather heats up. Mine did it last winter and is now doing it again. Once you get a nighttime temperature above around 5 degrees it will be fine again :L

Personally I'm not worrying about it. No point in shelling out for new injectors when there is no need. Loads of cars on here are doing it at the moment. Unplugging the egr and running a double dose of millers has helped mine loads.
