first time user . last week i noticed that when in 3rd gear it will not rev past 4.5k rev limiter kicks in and same in 4th and 5th . when i got the car it had a graham goode air box on it . i have taken it to ford showed them the air box and test drive he said it could be overboost . he said ok to drive normaly. any ideas on what could cause this or what i could do. many thanks
no other mods mate . am stuck as to what to do or what is going on . hope the turbo not on way out. its a 56 plate with 40k on clock and full ford service
A code readers what you need mate, the car will have a fault code stored in the ECU.
You'll be cheaper buying one from Fleabay, there about £50. Which is about £20-30 less than Frauds will charge you!
Yes this is a common fault as they are made of chocolate................... one of these cost me a decent RR result!!!! Not overly expensive but not easy to fit. Is the car under warantee???
well no codes came up at all so will try fuel cleaner and some super juice and see what happens . thanks for your help everyone. will keep you upto date . cheers
no car not under warrenty. had no luck with fuel cleaner but sounds and goes better tho. still wont rev over 4.5k. will look into getting boost solenoid changed even tho found no fault codes . strange like eh
i have got some NGK laser iridium spark plugs today the gap seems to be about a mm or less . do they stay the same or should i change the gap if i need to change what is the propper gap . thanks
