AutoExpress have today stated that Ford will make a Fiesta ST with 200BHP, a Focus ST with 250BHP and a Focus RS with 380BHP.

The Focus will remain 5 door and the RS will retain 2WD only with the 4WD idea likely to be dropped.

380bhp through the front wheels! pointless waste of power, you wont be able to put it down, no AWD again! it seems that ford are too greedy to spend the money on it

They reckon they can. They reckon they tested the previous RS with 380 and it worked fine. They will also revise the revo knuckle anyway.

from what i saw on top gear, the RS500 had 50 more than the standard RS and was no faster, you will just get lots of wheelspin and torque steer and floor it with the ESP on and it will rain in the power anyway, but on a plus note it will be fun though until the tyres disintegrate

It's more a case of being able to build an AWD car to a price people would be willing to or able to pay, too expensive and not enough sales could see them making a loss on the investment needed to make them.

This is what we were discussing when the last RS came out. It's the same reason they are not making a 3 door version.

But hopefully there will be a sporty coupe at some time but like many other makes it's bound to have the stock interior with some sports seats added.

Ford, will you please just do the right thing for once! Make a focus RS with AWD. please make a fast saloon to rival the audi S4, BMW M5, vauxhall Insignia. The mondeo titanium x does not rival these, it's a totally different car. Ford really need to buck their ideas up in my opinion because in a few years time I will want a fast, 4 door saloon with AWD and a lot of power. Why won't you do it to match your competitors and rivals? Aaaaaaarrgh!!!

They probably are to a certain extent but you have to weigh it up against the investment needed to create such cars and whether the market is big enough to warrant such cars. To be honest, I don't think the market is that huge. What concerns Ford is whether people are willing to pay the price, as I said it won't be cheap. It would have to be something as special like a Ford GT or RS200 for people to want to put their hands in their pockets and pay, alot of people still look down on a Ford oval badge and aren't willing to pay the price.

but titanium x sport is not right, the 's' should be before the 't' not after it! and tity x sport.. its not a true st is it really? if it was then it'd have like 240 bhp and stuff like that
i thought that ford should make a mondeo rs.. 3 or 5 door, engine, drivetrain and gearbox from nissan gtr and some hench bucket seats! thatd be good lol B)

thats why for the new focus rs they have dropeed the big 2.5T and replaced it with an EcoBoost 2.0T, because they have finally realised how thirsty the 2.5T is!

They've been planning to drop the 2.5T for at least for a few years now, the emissions are lower on the Ecoboost engines as well.

most people are more bothered about economy these days and binge drinking sports cars are not selling like they used to because average joes cannot afford to run them, its a shame realy but thats probably why they havnt developed a new sporty mondeo, sales would be poor :(
