Ford and Vauxhall top management have been awarded CBEs in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to the automotive industry.

Ford chairman Joe Greenwell and chairman and chief executive of GM’s UK operations, Bill Parfitt both received CBEs

Parfitt has been a staunch supporter of the British motor industry and vehicle manufacturing in the UK.

He championed the continuing production of Vauxhall cars and vans in the UK at Vauxhall’s manufacturing plants in Ellesmere Port and Luton.

Joe Greenwell was appointed chairman, Ford of Britain in January 2009. Before that he was chairman and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, having previously been vice president, marketing and operations, responsible for Ford of Canada, Ford of Mexico, Worldwide Direct Market Operations and Global Marketing.

Greenwell had been vice president, Global Automotive and Product Promotions and Associations.

Before assuming those roles, Greenwell was vice president, Communications and Public Affairs for Ford of Europe.
