Not sure if anyone else will think this a good idea or not? was going to have it in my signature but images aren't allowed.

Basically this site - http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/
Allows you to input your mileage, amount of fuel, cost etc and keeps a running total of your MPG, far more accurate than the trip computer, you can then link it to show your current mpg like this -

Thought it might be handy for us with MPG problems to keep an eye on each others and see if any general trends appear.

Or to do it quickly divide your fuel litres by 4.546 to convert it into gallons and then divide your mileage by this figure.

It's not the only thing it does......

# It show business/personal mileage
# It keeps a running total of total money spent/received.
# Has a graph of mileage against time to see lower/higher than average travel
# And an ikkle pie chart showing the proportions of money spent on certain categories.

Quite sad really

I think its a good idea,

maybe we can then all get together and go and bash on Fords door as a group demanding they sort this issue out.

I am driving like miss daisy and struggling to get above 45 (this was all 100% motorway not going above 80 at any point and sitting at 70 most of the journey)

thats 12 mpg off what they suggest, I think this issue becomes more important as the price of fuel keeps increasing. And to be honest it is one of the main reasons I got the car, otherwise I would of had a petrol car.

If we could get a list of people with issues and people without this can only help us as we can point out that the people who get 600 miles per tank compaired to our 400-500 under similar circumstances.

I was thinking of taking my car in to ask about this at the local garage... I've had the car 2 months and tried normal diesel from BP and ultimate (owch!) but still not getting more that 550 per tank.... Filled up on the way home this evening at 498 and trip computer said I still had 35 left. (I find mine is pretty accurate now, although it's taken nearly 2 months to get used to my driving!! When I got the car it would refuse to show more that 385 on the range when I filled it up!)

I'll keep you posted as to how I get on!

Wow 550 per tank, I'm lucky to get between 300 and 350, although it is a 3litre V6 !

My range indicator still shows 550 ish miles when I fill the tank up, however, somewhere in between it manages to apply some witchcraft to it's mathematic skills, as between 350 - 400 miles later it's saying 5 miles left.

I still dont understand how it's happened so suddenly to mine, I was actually getting 500 odd miles to a tank a few months ago.

Might as well chop it in for 220 and cab that up at this rate, petrols cheaper than diesel plus I could run it on LPG!!!!

lol,
Summer comes, then the air con gets put on and our mpg gets even worse!

It shouldnt alter mpg by 12+ mpg which is what some of us are experiencing.

Im thinking sod it, bluefin it as one comment I read said his mpg got better, the ones that got worse by 2-3mpg prob didnt have the issue of only getting 400 450 a tank.

Booked into the garage next Monday... How do you get 650 on a tank? What kind of driving do you do and how do you drive??
I can see a long arguement with Ford starting.....

mine dropped to 35 MPG and came with a poor running situation at 1- 1500 revs.
Fraud now replaced the injectors after making things worse with a PCM upgrade.
Now getting 49.2 crusing under 2K revs.

Have to say my overall MPG and engine smoothness, power etc has improved no end after two tank fulls of adding Millers diesel power sport 4.

Filled up with 55l of shell diesel extra and 100ml of the millers on monday, so far I've did 350 miles on the motorway and 110 town miles and still have quarter of a tank of left. The dash is saying I've got 130 miles left. Car is an 07 plate, motorway stuff was on cruise at 75 on the speedo, town driving is changing at around 2k revs mostly.

Before I started adding millers the dash was showing 39 mpg. I reset it after I added the millers and that rose to 42.5mpg after the first tank. When I filled up the second time I didn't reset the dash and it's now showing 46mpg which is close to an average of 50mpg for this tank. In real life that's probably around 47mpg, the dash is often a little optimistic, which I'm more than happy with.

I do primarily motorway miles, each tank is probably 500 motorway and 150 around town/country lanes. Motorway is 75/80 cruising and I make use of the full range almost every time I drive it. I am always swift away from traffic lights and certainly don't drive like a pansy :).
