Flat out!

I'm currently still fumming after some d**k head in a personalised numberplated Merc almost ran into the side of my car at the junction 1 mile from my house.
The main road through the town where I live is the A947 and just outside Newmachar where I live two roads join it opposite each other. Now according to the highway code if you have a main road joined by two minor roads opposite each other (cross road) and you have two people both wanting to go the same way on the main road (one has to turn left onto it, one turns right)then the person who is turing left onto the main road has right of way over the person who is turning right onto that road. Pretty simple I'd have thought. Sadly the mentally retarded amoeba round these parts seem to think that whoever got to the junction first goes first. This has resulted in many near misses, 4 with myself and many more between others, when those turning right decide they have waited longer than those going left and so are going to go. I'd like to add that a very high percentage of these idiots have Audis, Mercs, Vauhalls or personailsed number plates.
So is it just the A947 or do other people find these retards round where they live?!

Problem is, if I'm waiting for a car from my right to pass before going, the guy opposite can get away a fraction earlier and thus force in front. C***s

Hi
While always courteous to show other motorists you intensions, it pays not to use the indicator’s when turning left at a crossroads.
Other drivers often then wait assuming you are continuing straight on.

Getting better

It may be due to the special privileges bestowed upon those who drive cars with a star on the front. In their heads anyway.
Peter, I use that technique sometimes esp. when about to turn left into a side road where there are cars ahead waiting to turn across you into the same side road. If you indicate too early sometimes, even though there isn't enough room for them, they'll floor it to get there first. Very annoying.
There seems to be a general lack of roadcraft and consideration with the majority of drivers these days, and it'll only get worse.
