Lots of pics somewhere including a complete breakdown of the EGR. I think they were posted by Jamo sometime back. Try a Beta search.

Get a new one as it is probably buggered.
The only thing that helps me maintain my slender grip on reality is the friendship I share with my collection of singing potatoes.

My Ultra reliable beast of a car is 07 (E)state with 107K on the clock

List of woe:
knackered injectors fixed
egr valve buggered x2fixedx2
rattley crank pulley x2 (again)Woohoo on number 3 now!!
little fan by the left knee buzzing
Drivers heated door mirror isn't replaced mirror and now fixed
Temp gauge keeps dropping replaced oil cooler stat and fixed
Wearing rear tyres quicker than the fronts
Squeak from tailgate replaced door wedges and squeak gone.
A clonk from the back now FFS!

I have cleaned mine several times over the years but the last month it didn't make any differance. It came to the point to bite the bullet & buy a new one.. Works wonders but £144 lighter...

I've cleaned my EGR twice, and last night the car started driving with a stutter.
The EGR hose to the intercooler has a small split, but i disconnected the EGR to see how the car would run and its perfect. I'll be replacing the hose today hopefully, but the EGR will remain disconnected.
